Sal Khan

Founder, Khan Academy

Sal Khan is the founder of Khan Academy, a nonprofit with a mission of providing a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere. Sal is also the founder of Khan Lab School, a nonprofit laboratory school in Mountain View, California, where he teaches seminars in the humanities and sciences. Today, more than 70 million registered users access Khan Academy in 30 languages across 190 countries. Khan has been profiled by 60 Minutes, featured on the cover of Forbes, and recognized as one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential People in the World.

Marty Vanderploeg

Chief Executive Officer and President, Workiva

Prior to cofounding Workiva in 2008, Marty was a cofounder of Engineering Animation, Inc. (NASDAQ: EAII) and served as the company’s Chief Technology Officer of EAI from 1989 to 1999 and as its Executive Vice President from 1993 to 2000, when it was acquired by Unigraphics Solutions (now part of Siemens USA). Marty has a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Michigan State University.

Mitz Banarjee

Executive Vice President and Chief Customer Officer, Workiva

Prior to Workiva, Mitz was Director of Client Services at Yodle (acquired by in 2016). Previously, he managed customer relationship teams at AT&T and AOL. He has a B.A. in Information Systems from the University of Lincoln in England, UK.

Yasser Mahmud

Senior Vice President Marketing, Workiva

Yasser is Senior Vice President Marketing at Workiva. Prior to Workiva, Yasser spent over 20 years in leadership positions across multiple disciplines ranging from strategy, marketing, and business development to consulting, engineering, and product management at companies including Oracle, Primavera Systems, Infor, Manhattan Associates, Motorola, and Toshiba. Yasser holds dual bachelor’s degrees in electrical engineering and industrial systems engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Penny Ashley-Lawrence

Vice President, Customer Success, Workiva

Penny has spent the last 20+ years leading teams who cultivate relationships with clients and end-users. She specializes in creating teams who solve problems for customers using everything from online platforms and digital engagements to hands-on workflows and solid partnerships. Penny’s experience spans across multiple industries including healthcare and pharma, marketing, retail analytics, communication, and security.
